Dr. Michele Kerulis and members of the Chicago Psyching Team recently participated in the Bank of America Chicago 13.1. During the third annual half marathon, a sold-out field of 10,000 runners came together on Chicago’s West Side Sunday, June 9, 2024 for the second annual Bank of America Chicago 13.1. According to race organizers, “The 2024 event built on the vision to reimagine what running can be in Chicago with a mix of wellness activities and entertainment for participants and community members.”
The Psyching Team are medical volunteers who specialize in mental health counseling and sport psychology. During this event, they helped runners celebrate at the finish line and they assisted with a full spectrum of emotions that people experience on race day. Next year’s event will take place on June 1, 2025.
What’s Next for the Chicago Psyching Team?
The Chicago Psyching Team is ready for marathon training season, which consists of 18 weeks leading up to the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. On October 12, 2024, runners from all over the world will travel to Chicago to conquer 26.2 miles across the city. The Psyching Team provides weekly tips to help marathoners keep their minds in the race and will be at the race expo to psych runners up before the big day. This event is an Abbott World Marathon Major and one of the most prestigious marathons in the world. The Psyching Team is proud to be part of the outstanding team of volunteers who help provide a world class environment for a safe and fun event.
